New Concentration Piece!

Concentration In-Progress

    My concentration is all about fear. Through the medium of photography I have taken what people think to be common fears and phobias and have shed a somewhat positive light on them. Fear can be crippling and the fears shown in this concentration are very real and affect people around the world. I decided to put a positive spin on these fears because I want the message of this concentration to be that there can be good found even in bad situations.

My opposite is grungy/HDR stuff so this was a photo I took in Boulder and made it HDR.

Silk Painting - The Climb

   This is my silk painting entitled "The Climb" meaning the flowers' growth and such.

I would give myself an AP score of 4 because: 

The work shows a good investigation of a variety of 2-D design principles.

Food Photography

   My love for fall is unparalleled, so of course I wanted to photograph an iconic fall food. How much more more iconic can you get than to use pumpkins?

Narriative Mini-Series

"Change of Face" 

This series was inspired by my recent work on the play, The Trojan Women. The idea behind the series is that the model is progressing from a natural, vibrant beauty to a society-tamed fake. This series is very meaningful to me and I'm very proud of it!

Weekly Challenge 4

This week I was tasked with portraiture and this is one of my small group girls from youth group! I think this photo had gorgeous lighting and captures her quiet but awesome personality!

20 Layers Project

    For this project the goal was to create a cohesive artwork featuring a body part using 20 different layers. I was inspired by eyes and how we as humans only see what we want to see and the things I incorporated into my artwork are the things that I "see" or the things that inspire me.

    This week I drew the challenge of creating a logo for a company. I love stationary so I thought it'd be fun to make my own stationary line! This would just be a cover for a pack of cards but I really like it! If I could I would make it mixed media so that I could add ribbon and pearls and stuff like that, but heres my first image!

     This week I chose the challenge of artist emulation. I used a photo I took in Boulder of some ornaments. I emulated Jay Maise who takes photos of cool china and just things he sees around walking around so that's what I did!

This week I chose the challenge of portraying the color red without using it. I've never done pop art before so I thought that this would be a good time to try it!
